Incredible EER 5.67 W/W or 15.79 BTU/hr/w ~ 28 to 32+ SEER (even 20% more efficient when operated at half capacity)

  • Compare to AC and AC/DC hybrid mini splits with EER 3.5 W/W or 12.5 BTU/hr/w ~ 19 to 21 SEER or even worse 10 to 14 SEER ducted residential central air heat exchangers! That's 1.5x to 3x better energy efficiency. 
  • +10% DC to AC conversion loss if you power an AC heat exchanger from solar panels through micro-inverters
  • +20%-10% for AC to DC and possibly DC back to AC conversion loss when powering an AC/DC Hybrid Inverter Mini-Split from AC
  • +21%-25%  conversion loss if you store the AC energy with a battery charger (8%-15%  loss) in high-efficiency Lithium DC batteries (3% loss), and then use it later through a DC to AC Inverter (+8% loss)
  • Ducts add 20%-30% loss if they are well-maintained.  Add more if any air leaks.

You can see how conversion losses can quickly add up to 50% loss in an AC-centric system before you even use a watt!  Our 48V DC-Direct heat exchangers, when powered from DC solar panels through an efficient MPPT DC-DC solar charge controller, use 96%-98% of the power produced. 

When powered from AC-Grid through a battery charger or our optional 110V AC to 48V DC converter (no battery needed) they use 92%+ of the power delivered. That's 12%-16% more efficient use of AC power compared to most efficient AC and AC/DC hybrid mini-splits, before taking into account the machine is 1.5x-3x more efficient.

Hurricane or Ice Storm power outages: If you have an on-grid home with central air, you can keep it, but by adding one 12,000 BTU to your master bedroom, you will have air conditioning during 2 weeks of power outage after a hurricane or heat in the North after a power outage from a blizzard or ice storm. Add a 24,000 BTU to your kitchen/dining/living room and keep your central air as a backup while experiencing all the energy savings.

If you only cool 1-2 bedrooms at night and do not cool those 2 bedrooms during the day, you might cut energy use by 50%! 50% of that 50% from 2x better efficiency means with this system, you could use only 25 watts for every 100 watts your old whole-house cental AC system required with similar comfort!
