The ClickToPhone enables a person who cannot press the keys of a mobile phone to operate the phone with a single switch, a 5 switch device or the joystick on their powered wheelchair. All the Phone’s functions can be accessed through the ClickToPhone software. For example the Phone can be answered, the contacts list can be browsed, text messages to be sent etc.

A hardware component is required for switch users. This wireless Bluetooth interface accepts either a single switch input or a 5 switch device such as a TASH mini joystick. Mobile phone can be operated without any additional hardware directly from a Genie joystick or Genie+ powered wheelchair master remote.

The ClickToPhone software will run on many Windows Mobile 2003, 2005 or 2006 SmartPhone. The software presents a series of grids to the user, much like an On-Screen keyboard for a computer. When the software begins it attempts to connect with the ClickToPhone hardware or a Genie joystick. Once connected the switch or joystick can be used to navigate the phone.


By default the user level is set to beginner. In this mode the switch or joystick can be used to scan the contacts in the speed dial list and make a call, answer a call if the phone is ringing and end a call in progress.	In advanced mode a user can access all the phones functions through a series of grids. The main menu presents 5 options. Dial Contact, Text Contact, Keyboard, Cursor and Programs.	The keyboard option presents an alphanumeric or multipress grid which can be used to compose and send text messages.	The cursor option presents a grid of symbols which allows the user to navigate the phone's menus so that messages can be read and replied to.

Can you recommend a compatible phone? Which model should I get?

Any Bluetooth cell phone released in the last two years should work fine. The phone must support the Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (HSP), only a few older Bluetooth phones do not. To support the Advanced Voice Control Upgrade Package the phone must be a Windows Mobile 5.0 or newer smart phone. List of Recommended Cell Phones available in the US

Where do I buy my cell phone and which carrier should I use?

We offer compatible unlocked GSM phones that will work with any GSM carrier worldwide. In the US two primary carriers are AT&T and T-Mobile. We will be working to expand this to a phone offering from Sprint and Verizon also, but at this time integration testing is not yet complete. If you have a very specific need in this regard, please contact us.
